Since it was released in 1999, this cigar has captured people's hearts with its incredible flavor and unique take on how it treats its wrappers. We really would not be able to discuss the Ashton VSG cigar without mentioning the VSG in its name. Those initials stand for Virgin Sun Grown, which refers to the way that the wrappers are treated before touching the filler. Ashton Cigars actually has a very interesting method for creating these wrappers in particular which involves growing them under clouded covering and harvesting them in a particular way to ensure that the leaves grown are stronger and more flavorful.

This plays a huge role in building the cigar's distinct flavor and contributes heavily to the flavor profile and strength. This is a rich cigar made with 4-5 year aged tobacco fillers, creating a dark and somewhat sweet palette with notes of dark cocoa, wood, and pepper. Just by looking at the wrapper alone, you can see the amount of thought and effort that went into creating the Ashton VSG cigar, and it goes even further beyond with every aspect of the cigar from the inside out.
